Fingo Funplex Products

  1. What are Fingo Funplex products?
    Fingo funplex products are large-scale building toys comprised of tubes, connectors, panels and more. They are completely customizable. The building options are only limited by your creativity. They can be built into large playsets and jungle gyms, and individual toys such as vehicles, lemonade stands and play houses.

  2. What are Fingo Funplex products made of?
    Fingo Funplex Systems are made of UV-Stabilized Thermoplastics that are designed to last a lifetime. Our products contain no toxic materials, no PVC or phthalates.

  3. Are Fingo products safe?
    Fingo products have been around for more than 20 years without any mishap attributed to the product. Fingo Funplex Systems are extremely tough; have no sharp corners or edges; and contain no toxic materials.

  4. How long will my Fingo Funplex System last?
    All fingo products are designed to last virtually forever.

  5. Can I use my Fingo Funplex System indoors and outdoors?
    Yes, you can. All Fingo Funplex Systems can be used indoors and outdoors. We do not recommend extended exposure to direct sunlight as the product may fade over time. Shaded areas outdoors are recommended. Fading will not reduce the strength of the product in any way.

  6. How long have Fingo products been made?
    The tubes and connectors that comprise Fingo products have been made since 1978.

  7. How do I clean my structures?
    You can use any common household cleaner on all Fingo products. We recommend not using abrasive cleaners as they may scratch and dull the product.

Fingo Funplexes and Families

  1. Will my Child be able to build a Fingo Funplex?
    Typically most children over the age of 3 have the motor skills to build a Fingo Funplex. They may still require some adult help and supervision top ensure proper construction. We recommend age and skill level appropriate adult supervision for all of our products. One of the great things about Fingo toys are that they actually help your child develop cognitive, motor, problem solving, creative and coordination skills as they invent their own designs.

  2. What is the recommended age for Fingo products?
    Generally, ages 2-5 years are recommended. Although older children can play on Fingo FunPlexes, this exceeds our safety standards and recommendations. The designs included with the kits meet the safety requirements for ATSM F-1148 “Home Playground Equipment”.
  3. Why is a Fingo Funplex a great investment for your family?
    Fingo is designed to last a lifetime when used as directed. Since its introduction in 1978, there have been many thousands of families who have played for years with Fingo and then passed on to the next generation. For all children, Finfo is a great way to help kids develop gross and fine motor skills as well as social play interaction. Fingo is a play system designed to "grow" with all children. As the children get older, the way Fingo is used is simply adapted to meet the new demands for age-appropriate activity, learning or play activities.

    Infants: Adults build enclosed play area, high chair, change table, etc.
    Toddlers: Adults build play structures ... house, fort, platforms, vehicles, pool, etc.
    Pre-Schoolers: Adults assist with construction of lofts, furniture, vehicles, dramatic play, etc.
    Pre-Teens: Children build their own furniture and structures.
    Teens: Teenagers design and build their own special construction projects.
    College: Co-eds use in dorm rooms as cubbies/shelving.

Building Your Fingo Funplexes

  1. How do the tubes “lock” together?
    Each tube locks to a connector at both ends. The tube is then locked into place, and cannot be pulled off or turned until it is unlocked.

  2. Are the parts from one model able to be used with another?
    Yes! All Fingo products are made to fit together. The more you have, the bigger you can build.

  3. How long does it take to put a model together?
    A typical model can take an hour or more to put together. Smaller structures and models can be built quicker. It is always better to take your time and build a strong design so your structure is safe.

  4. Can I build whatever I want to with a Fingo Funplex System?
    Yes. But only the models included in the handbooks & instructions meet safety standards outlined by product.

  5. Can Fingo products be used in water?
    Yes, they certainly can. Fingo products function well in water and suffer no additional wear or tear from use in water. Fingo products are less dense than water, so they will float. You need to ensure proper ballast is applied to keep your structure safe in water.

Fingo Funplexes and Safety

  1. How sturdy are the play structures?
    All Fingo Funplex Systems are designed to hold children and adults up to about 110 pounds. Although larger children can play on them, it is not recommended and exceeds our safety standards.

  2. What are ASTM safety standards?
    Fingo Funplex designs conform to ASTM residential playground safety standards. In addition to the CPSC guidelines, the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) also has developed voluntary performance and safety standards for most play equipment categories. ASTM is one of the largest voluntary standard-setting organizations in the world.

    In 1988, ASTM undertook a project to develop safety standards for Public Use Playground Equipment. A committee of over 120 professionals and consumers, dedicated to playground safety, worked on the development of this standard and, in December, 1993, ASTM Published F1487, Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Playground Equipment for Public Use. In 1995, ASTM F1487-95 was published. ASTM measurements establish minimum acceptable performance specifications for everything from swings to play surfacing.
